In his next blog entry Steve will disavow CORBA as a carefully orchestrated hoax and come out of the closet as having a long-term relationship with Smalltalk.

I'm actually quite proud of the work we did in CORBA, it was definitely not a hoax. CORBA still runs significant parts of the phone systems around the world, among other important infrastructure, and so it won't be going away anytime soon. I still get royalties for the CORBA book, which is probably more than you can say for your COM books. ;-)

As for Smalltalk, no, I never really learned it, which is too bad.
