T-30: PDC 2008 Pre-con

Well, we're 30 days out from PDC 2008 pre-con day.

I'm doing a pre-con on VSTS.

A big part of the pre-con is best practices and worst practices, or anti-patterns.

As I get things all nice and packed up into a nice package with a bow on top, I'm curious.

If you're coming to my pre-con, what do you want to know? What are you looking for? What would make your day?

I'm registered for the pre-conference.  I would like information about scaling VSTS to lots of projects and users.  I would also like tips on deploying web service builds to different environments.  Finally, I am trying to come up with workflows for workitems like bugs and requirements.

Brian, I will probably join your pre-conference session on TFS 2008 ... What I would like to see :

- Installation of TFS in a Hyper-V environment : why or why not?

- TFS is installed : how to proceed if you want to roll out a custom strategy for all upcoming development projects? Is it valuable to invest a lot of time in a custom process template, setting up TFS guidelines for developers, ...? How to convince management about the value of all this? Can TFS be seen as the start of a "software factory"?

- Customizing Reports in TFS - How is the data stored in TFS, from OLTP to data warehousing ...

- Interesting third party tools for working with TFS (client / server) - tools that make our life easier ;-)

- Roadmap to Rosario : how to be prepared?

Looking forward to PDC and your TFS session!

Pieter.
