Dell just lowered the price on their 24" LCD monitor to just over a kilobuck.
 
It's an extremely nice device and supports rotation a la the old Radius Pivot display for the Macintosh (which I actually had and loved back in the Reagan era).
 
It's disconcerting to use in its "tall-screen" aspect ratio - at 9x16, it's just too tall to use. But in "wide-screen" mode, it's the bomb.

Thats 1 sweet monitor. I personally have 2 X 2001FP.

They need to come up with 24" in 4:3.

I actually use mine in tall mode quite a bit. I think it's great for editing code in vs.net. You can see reams of code at a time.

Don, are you using the LCD monitor with your thinkpad? The docking station's DVI only supports 1280x1024, so are you using an analog interface? How's the quality?

No, I'm using it from a desktop

I did drive it once from the TP (I don't have a dock) and got 1600x1200.

Luke, I am sure it would look awesome .. the issue is .. finding a display card that works well, has DVI X 3, and doesn't cost an arm, leg and left nut !!

Right now I'm runnin' on a 6600GT Dual DVI, and it is sweetness defined !! The warmth of the light emanating from those two LCDs makes flowers grow in my heart and mind !! (Okay this is getting out of control).

Yes, I bought a 23" HP LCD about 4 months ago for $1500. Now I am mad that Dell comes out with one an inch bigger with media card reader and USB ports. DRATS!

Actually, I got this screen for $860 with all the discounts included back when it was first introduced. It's an amazing display available at an amazing price.
