Look here for a clue:

Given that
Eno did the startup sound for Windows 95
, and that Fripp is doing Vista 10 years later, I'm fully expecting a Bowie/Fripp/Eno reunion in Berlin for Windows 2015.
FWIW, here's the somewhat
opaque reference to the MS Studios gig on Robert Fripp's blog
.

Robert Fripp's Windows Sounds

Robert Fripp of King Crimson fame does the new Windows Vista sounds — at least one thing that’s going to be cool about it (KC’s In the Court of the Crimson King is one of my all-time favorite records) [via Don Box]...

The Roches? I haven't listened to them in ages. They could be worth the price of an upgrade.
<p>
Keep on doing.

No Roches?

OK, 25 minutes later. We get some Roches aura from Robert Fripp, but no Roches? Sigh.
Well I did find The Roches web site, http://www.roches.com and they have a *lot* of video on line.

Don, I give up: where does Peter Gabriel fit in? I didn't see any mention of him in the channel 9 thread...? Thanks!

Tanguy, thanks - glad *someone* noticed the pun! :-)
And I still wish I knew how PG fit into the story...

In the late 1970's, Robert Fripp produced and played guitar on three albums that comprised his so called "MOR trilogy":
His own album, Exposure.
Darryl Hall's Sacred Songs.
And Peter Gabriel's 2nd Album.
Both Hall and Gabriel sang on Exposure, although many of Hall's vocals were later redone by Terre Roche and Peter Hammill due to RCA not wanting Hall to be so conspicuous on a non-RCA album.
Also, Fripp played on (but didn't produce) PG1 and PG3 and played on the tour supporting PG1 under the psuedonym "Dusty Rhodes"
You can hear him on the bootleg recording from the Roxy show from that tour.
Hope this helps.

BTW, the Exposure album is on my top 5 albums of all time list.
It's a fantastic time capsule from a very fertile time and location (late 1970's NYC).
