I'm always looking for better ways to capture my research so that it's easily accessible, re-organizable, searchable, etc. For some time I have used a local wiki editing the files in emacs because it was easy to create interlinked documents, searchable, and moderately re-organizable.
I almost started using OneNote at one time, but the last time I looked at it there was no support for linking pages (which was a critical feature for me). I just installed OneNote 2007 on Vista and I have to say, I'm sold. You can now create linked pages easily, which is really nice. However, the feature that really sold me was - WindowsKey+S. If you have Vista installed, try it - you get a nice screen capture of whatever you select, and if you have OneNote 2007, it drops it into a new note - sweet!
