Microsoft has had a promotion going on now where they will would send you free, fully licensed copies of Vista and  Office 2007 - you just have had to watch 3 webcasts about each.
 
That is was it - no kidding!!
 
Update: This message was originally posted back in the last week of November 2006. The Microsoft promotion was active at that time but only lasted a few days.  The period for the promotion has passed - it is no longer available.
 
Start by watching a rather strange video on youtube.com which then points you to the registration sight.
 
From there, you just follow the directions.

Good point Brian...

But it's not really an issue for those folks since they already get the stuff anyway.

And besides, I'm sure there are lots of MSDN subscribers out there who have a spouse, parent, friend or pet who would like to get their own copy (wink, wink) ;-)

I agree that the video was totally bizarre - I don't know what they were hoping to accomplish with such a strange video.

That said... It seems like watching a bad video (along with the real webcasts) is a small price to pay to get Vista & Office for free. :-)

What's your agenda dude? It's not a con - it's simply a marketing program from Microsoft.

It was real - I haven't checked but I imagine the program is over by now but it was indeed real.
