  • Don't miss the next Windows Mobile Webcast... Unit Testing for Mobile Devices: http://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/WebCastEventDetails.aspx?EventID=1032382824&EventCategory=4&culture=en-US&CountryCode=US.

Microsoft just announced today that the Mobile and Embedded DevCon (MEDC) will no longer be held - MEDC 2007 held last May in Las Vegas was the final run of the event.

The developer-related Windows Mobile content that would normally be delivered at MEDC will now be delivered at the new Tech-Ed 2008 Developer Conference - embedded systems-related content will be delivered at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) West.

It was really just a matter of time before this happened. As mobile device development goes increasingly mainstream, it makes a lot of sense for the Windows Mobile-related content to be presented at the Tech-Ed 2008 Developer Conference, the conference that people go to for just about all of their other Microsoft-oriented developer-related content.

Even though the decision makes sense, I am a bit sad to see MEDC end. It's been great fun being at such a close-knit event every year - not really many events like MEDC left.

The times they are-a changin'

Definately going to miss MEDC. MEDC 2007 was a great experience. Hope you continue to have pre conference tutorials at Tech-Ed also.

I'll miss MEDC as well. ESC West? Not from where I live. It's an ocean and a continent too far for a three day event.
