Three intensive days learning about Microsoft BizTalk RFID
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an almost century old technology that is
quickly becoming the ubiquitous way to connect and indentify physical objects. RFID
has become the technology to use whether you are implementing a system for supply-chain
visibility, high-value asset tracking, or one of the many other problems where you
need to integrate physical objects into your software. Microsoft BizTalk RFID is
Microsoft’s entry into the RFID “middleware” market. Relying on the .NET runtime
and SQL Server, BizTalk RFID provides a highly customizable, extensible, and scalable
way to implement the software part of your RFID solution.
Highlights
- RFID Provider Model
- Managing RFID Devices
- Writing custom EventHandlers
- Building Synchronous RFID Applications with BizTalk RFID
- Using the OOB EventHandler components with RFID
- Integrating with BizTalk Server 2006
- Installation and scripting
- Creating and managing RFID processes
- Overview of RFID technology
Who Should Attend
Developers who are interesting in learning about RFID, and how to use Microsoft
BizTalk RFID to implement their RFID solutions.
Prerequisites:
Experience programming in C# using Visual Studio .NET is required. Working knowledge
of XML and Web services terminology, and BizTalk Server is helpful but not required.
What you should expect to learn:
You should expect to walk away with knowledge of how RFID works in the physical
world. Also you will see how to use Microsoft BizTalk RFID to build solutions around
RFID enabled objects to connect the physical world to the world of software.
Questions this course will answer:
- What is BizTalk RFID?
- How does BizTalk RFID relate to BizTalk Server?
- What kind of RFID hardware integrates with BizTalk RFID?
- How should I design my RFID software topology?
- When should I build a custom EventHandler versus use one of the
OOB components?
- When should the Rule Engine be used in an RFID solution?
- How can I roll out processes to multiple RFID nodes?
