What you'll learn

With your pair of Delivery Controllers now installed and configured, next up is the creation of machine catalogs both using -- and, in some cases, not using -- Machine Creation Services. MCS is one of Citrix's two solutions for rapidly provisioning out desktops and servers from machine template images. And, some might argue, it's the easier of the two to configure and use over time.

In this third course out of seven, Citrix XenDesktop 7.15 LTSR: Machine Creation Services, you'll first begin by exploring the architecture of Machine Creation Services. Next, you'll provision a series of machine catalogs for desktop and server operating systems. Finally, once created, you'll dig into the delivery groups and application groups that connect users to the applications on those machines. By the time you're finished, you'll understand the tasks in updating virtual machine templates and then rapidly deploying them using MCS automations.
