Project Server 2013 Installation

by Ben Howard

This course takes you through a complete installation of Project Server and all of its dependencies, including SQL Server and SharePoint Server.

What you'll learn

This course is designed to show a user how to install Project Server 2013, but can equally be used as a basis for a Project Sever 2010 deployment too. The course assumes you don't have any infrastructure in place, and starts by discussing the accounts that you will need in order install SQL, SharePoint, and Project Server in a secure manner ready for a production environment. This is followed by the installation of SQL Server and its configuration, and then the installation of the pre-requisites of SharePoint, and finally, the SharePoint install itself. Once both of these products are installed, Project Server can be installed, and the SharePoint Configuration Wizard run (and appropriate troubleshooting steps taken), before finally configuring the SharePoint Farm and creating an new Project Web App instance. In the final two modules, the course shows you how to wire up Excel Services and the Secure Store Service in order to run the Out Of The Box Excel reports, and then create and publish a new Project to finally verify that everything is working and configured properly. This course contains lots of resources to enable the user to follow best practices and obtain further information.
