Simon Robinson first cut his developer teeth in the early 1980s writing a scheduling system in BBC Basic(!) for his local college. Then after a spell in academia doing some (very) theoretical physics research, he decided he needed a change of direction and chose sports massage therapy as his new career. But halfway during training, he realized he was broke and actually needed a job urgently—so he ended up as a C++ developer instead—which turned out to be far more interesting than massage anyway, and almost as interesting as physics. A couple of years later, he was invited to an early alpha of C# and it was love at first sight: C++ never got a look-in after that. Alongside coding, he's been a Pluralsight author since 2013, and before that wrote or co-wrote a number of books, mainly on COM and then C#. The title of his first Pluralsight course, “Math for Programmers,” gives possibly a small clue to his love for all things science.
