AJA drops price of CION production camera $4K

AJA has just announced its "Summer of Savings" event that includes a round of huge price cuts for its production camera and portable recorders. AJA president Nick Rashby said the move would remove the "barrier to entry for so many in the indie and commercial film making market." The CION's MSRP was reduced $4,000 USD going from $8,995 to $4,995. CION

Also, their digital video recorders were reduced substantially:

Ki Pro ND.................$2,295

AJA customers who purchased the CION production camera before May 26, 2015 will receive two AJA Pak 512 SSDs for free, directly from AJA (valued at $2495). CION owners can submit their request for the free Pak media drives to [email protected]. AJA's drastic price reduction is probably in response to Blackmagic Design's announcement of its new line of cameras at NAB.
