Houdini Engine Releases for CINEMA 4D and Maya Announced by Side Effects Software
Side Effects Software announced release dates for some really cool technology with the Houdini Engine for CINEMA 4D and Maya today. Here's a quote from the press release:
Side Effects Software, an industry leader in 3D animation and visual effects software, is proud to announce the planned releases of Houdini Engine for Cinema 4D and Maya. Studios can build custom plug-ins using the Houdini Engine API today while artists will soon have access to plug-ins for products such as MAXON Cinema 4D and Autodesk® Maya.® Plug-in source code will be available on GitHub to encourage the development of plug-ins for more host applications. There's even a hint at a Unity plug-in coming somewhere down the road:
The Houdini Engine for Unity plug-in will remain in experimental testing. More information will be available later this year once Unity 5 has been released. If you're like us, this type of news is really exciting as it's bound to allow for a more streamlined workflow between industry-standard software.
