Released in April 2014, CompTIA's latest Security+ exam (SY0-401) continues to provide an important entry point into the IT security field. It covers foundation principles related to access control, identity management, and cryptography, and sets you on a path toward a career in IT security. It's also a useful companion to anyone working in IT Operations, encouraging an "always secure" mindset.

It should be noted that CompTIA recommends taking and passing its current Network+ exam before attempting Security+; Pluralsight has complete training for Network+ and most other CompTIA topics.

For our Security+ coverage, we've enlisted the help of Christopher Rees, who's been teaching people the ins and outs of IT for more than a decade.

For your convenience, the courses in this series are available as a playlist that you can add to your Pluralsight account.
