What you'll learn
Without good identity management you risk leaving your resources in a vulnerable position. Identity is one of the critical building blocks in your cloud environment and with more services being hosted outside your corporate perimeter this service is more than just a way for you to log in. In this course, AWS Identity and Access Management Fundamentals, you’ll learn about IAM users, groups, roles and policies . First, you’ll explore IAM Users where you will create your first IAM user and identify what makes this different to the root user. Next, you’ll discover IAM Groups and the benefits of assigning permissions through groups. Then, you’ll learn about policies and how these can be used to provide only the right level of access for a user. Finally you will look at Roles and you will explore the benefits of using roles as a method of assigning permissions to either users or applications.. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management needed to administer and protect your AWS environment and build upon this knowledge for future courses.
