This course introduces the system z hardware and z/OS operating system. The overview examines different types of work and basic data set organization concepts. The course rounds out the overview by examining the role and use of TSO/ISPF for real-time access, as well as exploring the concepts of the Job Control Language used in the z/OS system.

About the author

Gerhard Adam offers 41 years of experience in large systems computing with specialization in performance, capacity planning, and z/OS internals. He has been involved in software development extending from access method interfaces and telecommunications to performance reporting software. Gerhard also has developed various courses in z/OS internals, performance, client/server computing, and systems management.
