What you'll learn

3ds Max is a broad and very powerful 3D application and it can be difficult when you're starting out to know just where to begin. In this course, Exploring 3ds Max 2018, you'll get an overview of several of the key areas of 3ds Max and some examples of how to put that knowledge into practice. You'll begin by getting a high-level overview of the interface and you'll learn to navigate the 3D view. Next, you'll take a look at how to work with 3D models and learn a variety of modeling tools and workflows. In the animation module, you'll go through the process of setting key frames, modifying timing, and working with your playback controls to get models moving around your scenes. You'll then learn to work with materials and textures to give your models the appearance of different types of surfaces. Finishing up, you'll learn to add and manipulate lights in your scenes and use Arnold to render out final images of your projects.
