Throughout these lessons we will learn how to paint a strong fantasy illustration to be used as a portfolio piece for the entertainment industry. Using Photoshop, we will learn how to establish a strong composition, how to define a dynamic pose for our character, and how to work from initial sketches to the final illustration. All the while using a very strong, painterly approach. Along the way, we will discuss storytelling, how to work effectively with light and shadow, anatomy, and edge control, among many other essential topics. By the end of this tutorial you will have a solid understanding of everything you need to create an outstanding portfolio piece. Software required: Photoshop CS6.

Ricardo is a full time freelance illustrator and concept artist. He has produced works for several different projects around the globe for the game, advertising and publishing industries. His illustrations have been showcased at ImagineFX Magazine, Ballistic Publishing's EXOTIQUE, as well as many others. Additionally, he worked as a freelance concept artist for Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo III Cinematics.
