What you'll learn

In this series, we'll focus on introducing you to both paragraph styles and character styles in Adobe InDesign. We'll begin by learning what a paragraph style is and why it's important that we integrate them into our workflows. Next, we'll learn paragraph style basics, including creating, applying, organizing, editing, redefining, and deleting our styles. We'll also learn some of the more advanced usages of paragraph styles including applying sequential styles and creating parent child relationships between styles. After wrapping up with paragraph styles, we'll move on to character styles and learn how to use them. Once we understand the difference between the two types of styles, we'll learn how to harness the power of character styles by using them in tandem with our paragraph styles. Software required: InDesign CS5.
