Build highly trained, diverse engineers—behind the scenes

Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn’t. Because of this gap, there’s a persistent lack of diversity in tech roles. Opportunity Academies are an alternative career pathway for underserved talent.

Here’s how it works: Pluralsight One, a social impact organization, tailors Opportunity Academies for a company sponsor. Over the course of 12 – 14 weeks, each Opportunity Academy on-ramps cohorts of people (sourced through partnerships with other nonprofits) from underrepresented groups and prepares them for entry-level software, IT, or data roles at the sponsoring company.

Opportunity Academies are for companies who want to:

  • Improve inclusion and retention while bridging skills gaps
  • Solve their talent shortage by sourcing and developing new talent on time and in scalable programs
  • Relieve pressure on existing teams
  • Create opportunity and benefit from the breadth of experience and skill that diversity brings

Solve your talent shortage and address the opportunity gap

Opportunity Academies allow companies to turn their passive pipeline into a proactive program to help solve the opportunity gap and fill open roles with highly trained talent. Opportunity Academies solve both problems by going where the diverse talent is and then ramping up technologists to day one at work—job-ready.

Tailor Opportunity Academies to your tech stack and objectives

Opportunity Academies allow companies to build the exact talent they need, when they need it, from diverse backgrounds. For example, Pluralsight One experts can build Academies to upskill talent into DevOps, cloud, data, cybersecurity, or software dev roles—just to name a few. Academies can also follow a train-to-hire or hire-to-train model based on the company’s needs.

Build better teams in the background at scale

Hiring entry-level engineers puts stress on teams who feel torn between coaching new hires and focusing on project deadlines. Opportunity Academies relieve the pressure. Existing teams continue to hit their milestones while the Academy builds the new entry-level team in the background through full-time, virtual instructor-led training. On the other side, graduates value the opportunity, stay longer, and continue to grow.
