Pascal Resigning Position as Chairwoman for Sony Pictures

‌‌
Amy Pascal has said she will be stepping down this May as co-chairwoman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and as chairwoman of Sony’s motion picture group. Pascal's resignation is said to be prompted by a fall out from last year's cyber attacks on Sony where sensitive information and emails were leaked to the public. Among them were some of Pascal's emails that referred to President Obama's movie-going habits. A PR campaign was waged in the wake of the leaks, with apologies to the president and explanations, but apparently the results weren't satisfactory. Pascal's replacement has yet to been named, but Sony’s film operation has been put under the oversight of Sony Pictures chief executive Michael Lynton. Pascal is expected to take on other roles more directly associated with film production at Sony, which includes producer on the new Ghostbusters film according to the New York Times.
