Reside in Utah? You’re in luck: Pluralsight has collaborated with Utah Tech University to enhance the Utah workforce through the Learn & Work Initiative. This initiative is designed to empower adults with the essential tech skills they need to progress in their current profession or transition into a tech-oriented role.

Through August 31, 2024, Utah residents can apply for Utah Tech University’s Learn & Work in Utah program for the opportunity to access Pluralsight’s extensive library of tech skill development courses, labs, certification paths, and skill assessments.

Here’s what you need to know about the program and how to apply.

What does the Learn & Work program include?

Utah Tech University’s Learn & Work program provides participants with access to the full range of learning resources on the Pluralsight Skills platform at no additional cost.

This program focuses on career readiness and real-world training rather than traditional academic curriculum. Participants won’t earn college credits for the work they do during this program, but they will have the option to apply for prior learning assessments and potentially earn elective credits from Utah Tech University based on their proficiencies.

Personalized learning paths for technical skills

Program participants can design their own learning journey with Pluralsight’s wide variety of courses, hands-on labs, and skill assessments. They can also choose from 20 specialized learning paths for cloud engineering, machine learning engineering, data analysis, app development, and other in-demand technical skills and roles.

Remote, self-paced learning opportunities

Pluralsight’s fully online platform allows students to learn on their own schedule. They can learn on the go and integrate learning into their existing commitments. While participants are in charge of their learning schedules, Utah Tech suggests dedicating 5 – 10 hours per week to optimize the program’s benefits.

Reimbursement for one certification exam

Participants who successfully complete a certification exam can apply for reimbursement of the exam cost, limited to one reimbursement, on the condition that they have completed the majority of the certification coursework on the Pluralsight Skills platform.

Who is eligible to apply for the Learn & Work program?

All Utah residents with a high school diploma or its equivalent are eligible to apply for this program.

To complete the application, you’ll need to fill out basic information such as your name, contact information, and prior background or experience. You’ll also need to explain why you’re interested in the program and what you hope to gain from it.

What are upskilling program participants expected to do?

If you’re accepted into the program, you’ll need to follow a few basic requirements and expectations.

  • Commit to the program and maintain progress on a weekly basis (accounts with no activity for 30 days or more may be unenrolled)

  • Promptly communicate any challenges or concerns

  • Maintain respect and integrity throughout the program and learning process

What happens after you submit your application?

Upon submitting your application, you will be placed on a waiting list. You’ll be notified of your application status, and, if accepted, you can begin your learning journey as soon as you’re enrolled.
