DreamWorks Wins First Golden Globe with How to Train Your Dragon 2

‌‌
Last night at the Hollywood Foreign Press' Golden Globe's ceremony, DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon 2 took home the honor for Best Animated Feature Film. Other nominees included Big Hero 6, The Book of Life, The Boxtrolls, and The LEGO Movie. Although DreamWorks has been nominated six times in the category since it's inception in 2006, this marks the first time the studio has brought home the gold. Probably more important to the studio than the artistic accolades are the box office returns that are likely to follow the win along with an anticipated Oscar nomination in the same category. The win comes at a good time for DreamWorks, which saw some legal and financial set backs early last year. However, the studio has seen some steadily growing box office success with titles like Penguins of Madagascar. How to Train Your Dragon 2 has also grossed around $177 million since its release last June. Overall, 2015 looks to be a good year for DreamWorks with its new alien-in-a-strange-land feature, Home, set for release in late March of this year. The film stars Jim Parsons, the iconic super-nerd scientist from the TV hit, The Big Bang Theory who will voice "Oh", a similar socially awkward, yet lovable character. Oscar nominations will be this Thursday, 5:30 PST.
