Course Overview
Hi, I'm Jeff Sengstack. Welcome to my course, Adobe Character Animator Fundamentals. Character Animator is an exciting, creative, and powerful production product. As you can see, it converts my facial and upper body movements into a real-time animation of a puppet. It responds when I tilt my head, lean one way or the other, raise my eyebrows, blink, move my pupils around, smile, or look surprised. It also converts the sound of my voice into lip-synced mouth movement. I can even cover my mouth, and it will still lip sync correctly. You can also use keyboard shortcuts and the mouse to add additional animations like this: Hello. Have a character point his finger at something over there. There we go. Character Animator is an excellent way to create presentations, product promotions, and explainer videos. You can use it as a teaching tool and to produce animated TV shows or movies. In this course, I will show you how to do all the animations I just demonstrated. I'll start the course by giving you a tour of Character Animator's workspaces, the Start workspace with all it's free puppets, each with its own set of animation properties, Rig, where you give the puppets structure and specialized animation triggers, and Record, where you make the final animations. I'll use several puppets along the way and show you how to find many more free puppets online. Finally, I'll explain how to convert your recorded animations into videos you can share online or elsewhere, as well as how to take an intermediary step and put your project into Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro, which allows you to do real-time animation edits to your puppets in Character Animator and have them show up immediately in After Effects or Premiere Pro. This course will be a fun adventure. I hope you join me in Character Animator Fundamentals.
