Course Overview
Hi there, my name is Justin Seeley, and I'm a staff author here at Pluralsight. I'd like to welcome you to Adobe Illustrator CC: Creating a T-shirt Design. Have you ever wanted to needed to create a t-shirt for yourself or for a client, but didn't really know the proper procedure for doing so? Well, this course takes you through the basics of doing just that. We'll start off by learning the printing process, including key terms and definitions, color concepts, and we'll also take a look at the actual screen printing process in action as well. From there, it's all about designing your artwork. I'll show you how to import artwork that the client gives you, how to convert raster graphics into vectors using image trace, and even how to choose a color scheme for your design by searching online or creating one yourself. Once a design phase is done, we'll take a look at how to prep and deliver your artwork. I'll show you how to create mock-ups for client approval, export a print-ready PDF, and package your files for delivery to your printer. Finally, we'll take a brief look at a new type of t-shirt printing process known as direct to garment, or DTG. Here you'll learn how to choose the right print shop, prepare and export your artwork based on the printer's instructions, and finally, how to upload and preview the finished product before ordering and shipping it to your door. As you can see, we've got a lot of things to cover, so if you're ready, let's begin learning how to create a t-shirt design in Adobe Illustrator CC.
