In this Maya tutorial we will explore the Maya Fur menu set and all of the advanced features tucked away in them. We will learn things like how to control your render settings, shadows, use the Maya Hair system to add dynamics as well as how to render fur using mental ray. This is a perfect course for those of you using fur in production and want a refresher on the different menus as well as those of you touching Maya Fur for the first time. This is a second part of a two part Maya tutorial. We'll build upon what we covered in the first tutorial. You are welcome to start here but I would recommend you complete the first course as a pre-requisite. Software required: Maya 2010 and up.

Introduction and Project Overview
Hello, I'm Papa Georgio with Digital-Tutors, an Autodesk Authorized Publisher. I'm really excited to take you through this course on how to use Maya's powerful and production tested fur system. In this course, we will explore the Maya fur menu set and all of the advanced features tucked away inside of them. We will learn things like how to control your render settings, shadows, use Maya hair systems to add dynamics as well as how to render fur using mental ray, just to name a few topics. This is a perfect course for those of you using fur in production and wanna get a refresher on the different menu sets available to you as well as those of you touching Maya Fur for the very first time. Keep in mind this is the second part of a two-part training course. I'll build upon what we covered in the first course, and so you're welcome to start here, but I would recommend you complete the first course as a prerequisite. So with that, let's go ahead and get started with our first lesson on how to add, remove, and delete fur descriptions.
