Description

Angular is a super productive and wildly popular JavaScript framework for stitching together great web applications. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide any consistent set of ready-to-use, great-looking UI components out-of-the-box. PrimeNG is that missing library. In this course, Building Beautiful Angular Apps with PrimeNG, you'll create a fun line business application, Agile Times, while covering a huge array of useful controls. First, you'll explore specialty controls, including realtime charts, searchable datagrids, interactive Google maps, popup dialogs, and tree-style controls. Next, you'll dive into advanced topics, such as drag and drop controls, and unit testing. Finally, you'll discover how to utilize the PrimeNG source when the documentation lets you down. By the end of this course, you'll have the necessary knowledge to build useable and consistent Angular applications.

Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Glen Smith and welcome to my course Building Beautiful Angular Applications with PrimeNG from Pluralsight. Angular is a super productive and wildly popular JavaScript framework for stitching together great web applications, but sadly it doesn't provide any consistent set of ready to use great looking UI components out of the box. You know, grids, charts, calendars, all that good stuff that our apps need. So most developers will go looking for an open-source library of components that look and work great. If that's you, PrimeNG could well be the library you've been looking for. In this short course, I'm going to take you through building a stylish line of business application called Agile Times. This will make we're grounding our teaching in reality and sticking with the kinds of tools and techniques you'll likely use in day-to-day angular app development. The course is part inspiration and part technique so whether its whipping up some sizzling charting for a dashboard, coding up some impressive form validation, or pushing the boundaries of massive data tables, we'll be pulling together all the building blocks of a great functional UI in record time. With the deadly grind all done, we'll head left of center and explore specialty controls such as modal dialogs, Google Maps, wizards, and even Outlook star schedules. We'll close out the course with advance use cases such as non-visual drag and drop controls, unit testing all your PrimeNG code and even diving deep into the PrimeNG source if things aren't working quite as you expect. By the end of this course you'll be building much more usable, consistent and beautiful angular applications in far less time than you or your team thought possible. So if you don't have an army of graphic designers and UX people at your disposal, but you still want to produce beautiful and familiar web applications that your users will love, this is the course for you. It's going to be a blast, so let's get started building beautiful angular applications with PrimeNG, now on Pluralsight.

Course Introduction
Wouldn't it be great if you didn't need a ton of design expertise to be able to delight users with great looking and functional Angular applications? Well, I'm hoping this course will deliver on that vision. I'm glen Smith and welcome to my Pluralsight course on Building Beautiful Angular Applications with PrimeNG. In this first module, we'll learn a little about what PrimeNG is, why it's helpful and why I think you'll fall in love with it, particularly if you're not an ace designer, then we'll talk a little about how to make the most of this course and give you a solid tour of the sample app, showing you the skills that you'll be picking up during the rest of this course.

PrimeNG Fundamentals
I know that you must be itching to get started building some applications with PrimeNG and the first step in that journey is setting up the infrastructure and learning the fundamentals. But fear not, this module is not just about setup. We'll also be introducing you to the foundations of using PrimeNG components in your own applications and we'll have you deploying your first PrimeNG component before you can say NPM install. I'm Glen Smith and welcome to our fundamentals module.

Charts for Visual Effect
There's nothing more visually impressive to your users than a great-looking chart, and in this module, we're going to roll our sleeves up and explore the multitude of awesome charting options that are offered by PrimeNG. I'm Glen Smith, and welcome to our charts module.

Forms Unmasked
The heart and soul of every modern business application is the data entry form. Whilst these forms are typically boring and uninspiring, in this module we'll be exploring how to use PrimeNG's form components to create great looking and highly functional forms, which your users are going to love. I'm Glen Smith and welcome to our forms module.

DataTables
One of the most versatile and useful form components is that mainstay of the enterprise UI, the DataTable. The PrimeNG DataTable gives you an incredible palette of tools to apply in creative ways in solving all your users' tabular data needs. You're going to love this component and in this module we dive in deep. I'm Glen Smith and welcome to our DataTables modules.

Dialogs, Tabs, and Other Wizardry
So far, we've covered a lot of bread and butter UI elements that you use every single day. It's time to explore some of the sugar and spice controls that you only need every so often, but when you need them, they're massive time-savers. From tabs to custom dialogs, from trees to maps, there's a lot to explore, and it's going to be so much fun. I'm Glen Smith, and welcome to our Dialogs, Tabs, and Other Wizardry module.

Advanced Topics
Congratulations. You've reached the very last module of this course. Hopefully by now you've had a really good experience of the many diverse controls you have at your fingertips when working with PrimeNG and I hope that you're full of inspiration to apply them to your everyday business problems. In this last module we're going to be lifting the hood of the Prime bonnet and taking a good look at the engine itself. Lots of interesting stuff in there. I'm Glen Smith and welcome to our Advanced Topics module.
