Hello and welcome to our course Getting Started with Microsoft Azure IaaS Monitoring and Management.

My name is Tim Warner, and I am a full-time Pluralsight trainer, a Microsoft MVP in Cloud and Datacenter Management, and your instructor.

We designed this course to accelerate your success with the Microsoft Azure public cloud platform, specifically in the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) monitoring and management scenario.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  • Reviewing Azure service and resource health using Azure Monitor
  • Installing and configuring Azure management solutions, particularly the Insights and Analytics solution
  • Searching for and analyzing Azure reource data using Log Analytics and Log Search
By the end this course, you’ll be able monitor and maintain your IaaS deployments according to Microsoft best patterns and practices. You'll avoid common pitfalls and ensure that you have your finger on the pulse of your virtual machines and related Azure services.

Before beginning the course you should be familiar with the basics of cloud computing in general and Microsoft Azure in particular. Because we focus on IaaS workloads, you should be familiar with the Azure virtual machine (VM) lifecycle.

From here, you should be prepared to learn more about Azure architecture in general and Azure management solutions in particular.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey of Azure cloud discovery in our Getting Started with Microsoft Azure IaaS Monitoring and Management course from Pluralsight.
