Course Overview
Hi! I'm Jim Weaver for Pluralsight, and I'm a developer who's been using various forms of software version control and helping teams use them since the days when version control was mostly keeping your stack of punched cards safe. Bitbucket Cloud is Atlassian's web‑based Git repository hosting service. In addition to Git repository management, it also offers a wide array of related features, including pull request review and a fully integrated continuous integration and deployment tool. Being aware of all these features and understanding when and how to best utilize them can be challenging. This course will cover all the major capabilities of Bitbucket Cloud. We'll see how to interact with it from IDEs, how to manage repositories and branches, and how to manage users and permissions, including leveraging team workspaces. We'll create, review, verify, and approve pull requests, which offer a great way to check and approve code changes before they're incorporated into the main code base, and we'll build, test, and deploy a sample application using Bitbucket Pipelines, Bitbucket Cloud's integrated continuous integration and deployment tool. We'll enable the included wiki and issue tracker features for a repository, but we'll also integrate Bitbucket Cloud with Jira, Atlassian's ubiquitous planning and tracking tool. We'll even take a look at integration with Trello and Slack, two other popular development tools. By the end of this course, you'll be familiar with all of Bitbucket Cloud's major features and be able to pitch in and help your teams get best use of it as well.
