Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Gill Cleeren, and welcome to my course, Bootstrap 5 Fundamentals. I'm the CTO of Xpirit Belgium and work on mobile and web projects. Building for the web is a lot of fun, but it's not always easy. Users will visit your site using different devices for running from small mobile devices to large monitors. Making sure that your site looks good on all these screen sizes is a lot of work. Bootstrap is a very popular open source library designed to help you create mobile‑first responsive websites. Using Bootstrap, all visitors will get the most optimal experience on your site. This course will teach you all you need to know about Bootstrap version 5, and you'll be creating a site step by step. You'll start with adding Bootstrap to the site. Then you'll learn about the grid layout system to create a responsive page layout. Bootstrap can do a lot more, so next, you'll learn about several layout classes it contains. Finally, you'll learn about components in Bootstrap, which already contain a lot of functionality for common tasks such as creating a menu, a drop‑down or even a full form. Some of the major topics that we'll cover include creating a fully working and responsive site based on Bootstrap 5, understand the grid layout system, use components to bring in commonly used functionality, such as a menu, see how you can make your sites UI consistent using common styles, add interactive components based on JavaScript. By the end of this course, you'll have a good understanding of the Bootstrap 5 framework and how it can be used to create responsive, mobile‑first web applications. This course expects some basic HTML and CSS knowledge. No prior experience with Bootstrap is required. You can also use this course as a way to understand what is new in Bootstrap 5. I hope you will join me on this journey to learn how to build responsive and good looking web pages with Bootstrap using the Bootstrap 5 Fundamental course, here on Pluralsight.
