Course Overview
Hi, everyone, my name is Esteban Herrera and welcome to my course, Build your First Report with BIRT. For more than 10 years, I have been developing enterprise applications that use reports in many ways, from simple reports that just list data, to complex reports that include many sub reports and visualizations. BIRT is an open‑source platform that allows you to build reports and data visualizations easily, regardless of your reporting skill level. In this course, you'll learn how to use BIRT to build simple but professional‑looking reports. Some of the major topics that we will cover include: setting up data sources and datasets, showing data in a table, using properties and styles to format the elements of our report, and adding a pie chart to our report. By the end of this course, you'll know how to create simple reports with BIRT. Before beginning the course, you should be familiar with the basics of using SQL, HTML, and CSS. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how to use BIRT with the course, Build your First Report with BIRT, at Pluralsight.
