Description

Mobile app development does not have to be as painstaking as it has been in previous years. Building hybrid mobile applications with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS enables you to deploy your app on multiple platforms without having to learn a new programming language for each platform. Hybrid apps enable you to re-use your existing JavaScript and HTML skills to quickly build compelling apps. Telerik AppBuilder is one of the best tools available today for building cross-platform applications. AppBuilder represents a giant leap forward for development tools for mobile apps. In this course, we will look at all of the major features of AppBuilder including the three IDEs, the robust AppBuilder simulator, debugging with AppBuilder, built-in project templates, working with plugins, Everlive services, source control, deployment, and more!

Developing with AppBuilder
HI this is Steve Michelotti and in this module we will explore various aspects of Developing Apps with Icenium. We'll start by examine the built in templates that come with Icenium. These templates are extremely helpful for getting started and pointing you in the right direction. I'll then show you several of the sample apps that are provided with Icenium. Like the built in templates, the sample apps are a great resource for getting your Icenium development kickstarted. I'll then briefly discuss some of the considerations when selecting a mobile framework and briefly discuss some specifics of a few frameworks. I'll then show you how to work with platform-specific files within Icenium. I'll conclude by showing you how you can work with plugins in includes. I'll show the core plugins that are very common and shipped in the box. I'll show integrated plugins that are customized by the Icenium team and also shipped in the box. Finally, I'll show you how you can integrate any custom plugin into Icenium.

Telerik Everlive
Hi this Steve Michelotti. In this module, we'll be exploring Telerik Everlive Services. Everlive Services provide a complete backend for your application hosted in the Cloud. It provides storage for data and files, as well as user management, email notifications and more. In this module, I'll start out with a discussion of what is Telerik Everlive. It's important to have a firm conceptual grasp of the framework before diving into the code. Then I'll show the Elv build-in template. Earlier in this course, I cover built-in templates for Kendo UI Mobile, jQuery Mobile, as well as the Blank template. In this module, we'll cover the Everlive template, which gets you up and running with Everlive quickly. Next I'll show you the five steps for incorporating Everlive into an already existing application. These five steps are that first, you Create an Everlive project on the server. Then you Download the SDK for the platform of your choice. If you're using the JavaScript SDK, which we will be in this module, you'll then add the Script Reference to Everlive to your app. Fourth, you'll write your application code and lastly, you'll make sure you know how to find the answers that you're looking for in the documentation. Although, I will be showing most of the Everlive functionality, there are a couple of features that are beyond the scope of the demos in this course. However, I'll still be discussing some of these other features such as push notifications and GeoPoints.

Telerik AppBuilder - Source Control and Deployment
Hi, this is Steve Michelotti. In this module, we'll be focusing on Source Control and Deployment with Icenium. Icenium is extremely flexible with respect to the options available for Source Control. Git is supported out of the box from any Git provider. If you utilize the Visual Studio extension, it will enable you to use any Source Control system, not just Git. After we discuss Source Control options, I'll demonstrate how you can deploy apps directly to your development devices, as well as creating provision profiles for different scenarios.
