In this course, CARA VR for NUKE, you'll learn how to use the world's leading high quality stitching software, CARA VR. First, you'll learn what to keep in mind when working with 360° video. Next, you'll see how it's used in practice. Finally, you'll use 360° video in your own productions. When you're finished with this creative course, you'll not only have the knowledge of how to correctly shoot a 360° video, but also the possibility to create a perfect stitch out of it. Software required: NUKE 10, CARA VR 1.0v2.

Hi everyone, my name is Simon Formanski, welcome to my course, Cara VR for Nuke. I am a Compositing Artist at Stargate Studios Cologne.

Virtual Reality is a fast rising Industry, In the first quarter of 2016 more than 1 Billion dollars went into the creation of VR content. Thank you to the whole team at Stargate Studios for providing the Software and the footage that we will be using through out Tutorial.

In this course, we are going to look at all the Tools that Cara VR is bringing to Nuke for creating this content. You should have an advanced knowledge of Nuke and its fundamentals. Basic knowledge of 360 or VR content creation is a big plus.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  1. Camera Rigs and Challenges in Production
  2. Workflow in post-production
  3. Creating a first stitch
  4. Refining and stabilizing Workflows
By the end of the course, you’ll know what to keep in mind while shooting VR on-set and how to create your own 360 Content in Cara VR for Nuke (afterwards).
