CATIA V5 is a computer aided design application that will help you to design any product you can imagine. In this course, Introduction to CATIA V5, you'll be introduced to CATIA V5 and learn how to use its workbench features in practice. First, you'll begin by learning the inner workings of the CATIA V5 Part Design workbench, and how to create a bike pedal. Next, you'll delve into a journey with the assembly workbench and install the pedal you made on the bike. Finally, you'll discover how to create a drawing of the pedal and multiple drawing views, all while adding some dimensions in the Drafting workbench. By the end of this course, you'll have the necessary skills and knowledge to create your own shapes, and confidently utilize part design and workbenches in CATIA V5. Software required: CATIA V5.

Hi, everyone. My name is Clive Erikson and welcome to my course, Introduction to CATIA V5. I'm an author at Pluralsight. CATIA is the world's leading solution for product design and experience. It is used by leading organizations in multiple industries to develop the products we see and use in our everyday lives. We will first start up CATIA and see the inner workings of CATIA V5 part design workbench and create a bike pedal. Then I will take you on a journey with the Assembly workbench and install the pedal you made on the bike. We will also create a drawing of the pedal and multiple drawing views while adding some dimensions in the drafting workbench. In this course, we are going to: CATIA workbenches, learn how to navigate within CATIA; Sketcher workbench, how to sketch up a bike pedal in part design; Assembly workbench, how to assemble a bike pedal onto a bike utilizing the Assembly workbench; Drafting workbench, learn how to create a drawing of the bike pedal that you just created and add dimensions and learn how to create drawing views. By the end of this course, you'll be comfortable with creating shapes in part design, drawing in Sketcher and using the Assembly and Drafting workbenches. Before beginning the course, you should be familiar with Windows Operating System and some CAD experience is a plus.
