Course Overview
Hey, this is Greg Shields, and you've found the eighth course in my learning path on installing and managing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, also known as CVAD. I am author evangelist and a full‑time author here at Pluralsight, and I've been building, managing, and helping others with Citrix environments since the days this product was known as WinFrame. Every really, really long learning path here at Pluralsight inevitably finds itself with a short list of, well, miscellaneous topics that don't often fit well into the other courses. All too often, these topics are also rather complex as well. Rounding out that list and completing our coverage is the mission for this course. In this eighth course out of nine, we'll begin by implementing session recording to keep an eye on user activities and their sessions. Then, we'll explore SmartAccess and SmartControl, along with smart cards in the Federated Authentication Service for advanced authentication and configuration control. Next, we'll explore at an architectural level the requirements for CVAD environment backups and preparations for disaster recovery. Finally, we'll expand our site into multiple geographic regions by exploring multi‑zone and multi‑site architectures. If you've just been tasked with building a new Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment, this course is your next stop in brushing up on those skills for success. And then from here, you'll be ready to continue on the learning path as we migrate to Citrix Cloud. Let's get started.
