Course Overview
(Music playing) Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy Morgan, and welcome to my course, Creating and Configuring New Websites. I'm a DevOps engineer, a consultant, and an author. Have you ever been tasked with installing an ASP.NET application on an IIS server? Have you ever had to migrate applications from server to server, or are you in the process of setting up DevOps and continuous integration? Millions of websites all around the world are hosted on IIS, and sometimes the best way to deploy these websites can be a bit of a mystery. In this course, we're going to learn how to configure new websites from the ground up. We'll do a deep dive into things like bindings, application pools, and host headers. We'll learn a couple different ways to install SSL on your website. We'll configure websites that use things like PHP and .NET Core. Finally, we'll make sure you're DevOps ready with automated and repeatable scripts to install your websites. By the end of this course, you'll know how to install websites in a repeatable, predictable way, no matter how custom they are. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with IIS and a little programming. From here you should feel comfortable diving into IIS with courses on IIS Administration, or IIS for Developers. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn the best ways to install websites with the Creating and Configuring New Websites course here at Pluralsight.
