Course Overview Hi. My name is Jo Harder, and welcome to my course, Cultivating Effective Relationships in Virtual Work. I've been involved with the virtual workplace from both a technical and business perspective for over 20 years. In the virtual workforce, work colleagues are often perceived as faceless because they're not physically present like officemates. Within this course, we'll focus on virtual teams that are comprised of members that are across town and across the world. This course will help you avoid pitfalls that often face virtual teams and enable you to achieve greater success as part of a remote workforce. Due to COVID‑19, the virtual workforce became the new normal in many organizations. For many employees, this was unchartered territory, and this course focuses on the skills necessary to develop relationships with workmates more effectively. In this course, we'll focus on three key areas. First, understanding team dynamics of the virtual workforce. Second, listening for nonverbal communications. And third, cultivating better communications and virtual teamwork. By the end of the course, you'll gain key understandings about how you can be a better virtual teammate, as well as how you can enhance your interpersonal skills. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how to be a better virtual teammate with this course, Cultivating Effective Relationships in Virtual Work, at Pluralsight.
