In this course, Cumulus: The Big Picture, you’ll learn to how to work with the Cumulus OS. First, you’ll explore some basic functionality in the OS, including bridging and routing. Next, you’ll discover how to deploy a VXLAN fabric with BGP EVPN as the control-plane along with BGP unnumbered. Finally, you’ll learn how to monitor your network with Cumulus NetQ. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of the Cumulus needed to fully provision, deploy and operate this open networking solution.

Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name Aninda Chatterjee, and welcome to my course on Cumulus: The Big Picture. As a network engineer looking to learn new things, Cumulus and their network operating system has always had me intrigued. Having specialized in data center design and troubleshooting, this was the perfect fit for me, and the journey has been nothing short of amazing. I want to help you learn from my experiences in the wild, and this is what the course is all about. This is a demo‑heavy course that not only teaches you how to configure your data center with Cumulus Linux, but helps you understand the driving factors behind it and, more importantly, why certain technologies work the way they do. We'll take some baby steps first with basic building blocks to familiarize you with this new operating system. After that, it's all action packed. I'll show you how to design BGP for your data center, followed by a deep dive on the most popular overlay technology deployed today, VXLAN. We'll also closely look at designing the leaf to host segment of your network and various deployment models for this that are available to you. By the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation to deploy data centers using Cumulus Linux and VXLAN as an overlay with BGP EVPN. I hope you'll join me in this journey to learn Cumulus Linux with data center design and deployment with this Cumulus: The Big Picture course, at Pluralsight.
