Software required: Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, Adobe Illustrator CC 2014, Sublime Text 2.
Introduction and Project Overview Hi everyone, my name is Gary Simon, and I've been a freelance designer for the last 15 years. And I've had the privilege of working with literally over a thousand clients on a wide variety of projects. In this course, we're going to work to design and build a long page scrolling site. Chances are you've seen plenty of these types of pages around. They're a great way to provide users with a lot of content in a visually appealing manner. We're going to design a mockup of a long page scrolling site initially in Adobe Photoshop. Then we're going to spend the rest of the course writing out responsive HTML and CSS. We will also touch on several different front-end techniques such as SVG animations, HTML5 video backgrounds, and more. Some of the key takeaways from watching this course include learning how to create a mockup in Adobe Photoshop based on a 12-grid PSD template, writing out HTML and CSS that's responsive using a front-end framework called Foundation, animating SVG graphics, and creating scroll-based animations. By the end of this training, you will have learned how to design and build a long page scrolling site utilizing the latest design trends in technologies. I'm excited to work with Digital Tutors and share these techniques with you. So let's get started with the first lesson.
