Containers and microservices are at the heart of modern cloud-native apps, and network connectivity is key to success. In this course, Managing Docker Networking, you’ll learn how to create new container networks, how to connect containers to existing corporate networks, and how to implement scalable service discovery. First, you’ll explore the need for scalable and dynamic container networks. Next, you’ll learn how to deploy various container-to-container networks as well as connect containers to existing networks. Finally, you’ll learn how service discovery works and how to implement it. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to design and deploy scalable container networks.

Course Overview
Hi. My name's Nigel. I'm a longtime technologist, Docker Captain, and best‑selling author, and I am pretty excited to be bringing you this course, Managing Docker Networking. So, networking is complex, it's at the heart of pretty much everything, and managing it, I know, it can feel like you need a degree in command line wizardry. Well, in the modern world of microservices and containers, if anything, it can be more complex and even more important. But don't let that put you off because Docker does an outstanding job of making it easy. So in this course, you'll learn the architecture of Docker networks and the different topologies and the likes supported out of the box. And, you'll learn how and when to use things like layer 2 bridges and VXLAN overlays. But don't let the jargon put you off because we'll be clarifying all of that as we go. As well though, you'll learn how to integrate containers with existing corporate networks and VLANs, and then how service discovery and ingress networking is implemented in Docker. And, of course, we'll cover the theory and the hands‑on practical. Now before you take the course, you'll need to know a thing or two about containers. But when you finish this course, while you won't be an expert, you won't be far off. I mean, you'll definitely have the fundamentals nailed and you'll be ready to take your next steps, which might even include deploying to production. But, talk is cheap. Come and join me on this epic journey to master Docker networking.
