Description

Project teams come together to generate unique value, but for whom? Without stakeholders – those who impact our work, are impacted by it, or perceive themselves to fall into one of those categories even when we don’t – our initiative would be meaningless. In this course, Engaging Project Stakeholders, you’ll learn how to successfully manage the relationship between your project’s stakeholders and your project itself. First, you’ll discover how to identify the wide range of stakeholders related to your initiative and how to understand their perspectives and needs. Next, you’ll explore how to work constructively with stakeholders to achieve shared aims. Finally, you’ll learn how to mediate disputes with and between stakeholders, identify outcomes in the best interests of your initiative, and ensure stakeholders are satisfied with project results. By the end of this course, you’ll have the knowledge needed to form a deeper appreciation for the role and value of constructive stakeholder relationships to any project.

Course Overview
Hi there, my name is Casey Ayers and welcome to my course, Engaging Project Stakeholders. Project teams come together to generate unique value, but for whom? Without stakeholders, those who impact our work, or are impacted by it, or perceive themselves as falling into one of those categories, our initiative would be meaningless. In this course, you'll learn how to successfully manage the relationship between your project stakeholders and your project itself. First, you'll learn how to identify the wide range of stakeholders related to your initiative and how to understand their perspectives and needs. Then, you'll learn how to work constructively with stakeholders to achieve shared aims. After that, you'll learn how to mediate disputes with and between stakeholders, identify outcomes in the best interests of your initiative, and ensure stakeholders are satisfied with project results. By the end of this course, you'll have a deeper appreciation for the role and value of constructive stakeholder relationships to any project. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with some of the principles of project management in order to better relate to the material that we'll discuss. This course is part of our series here at Pluralsight on project management skills, which can help you prepare for the PMP and other certification exams, as well as earned continuing education credit toward project management certifications. And it can be a great resource, even if you're just looking to learn more about project management. I hope you'll join me to learn how you can work more effectively with others with Engaging Project Stakeholders, here at Pluralsight.
