It can be tough making the right technology choices in the cloud. There are so many products to choose from and it can be challenging to know which fit your needs best. This course will get your project off the ground with the Google Cloud Platform.
The first steps to getting started on a project on Google Cloud include making critical decisions and building an environment you can use. In this course, Planning and Configuring a Cloud Solution on Google Cloud, you will learn about a lot of different products across compute, storage, and load balancing so you can choose the right technologies for your projects. First, you will learn how to use the pricing calculator so you can get a good idea for how each product’s pricing is structured. Next, you will discover the various compute and storage products at your disposal. Finally, you will learn about the different load balancers that are offered by Google Cloud. When you’re finished with this course, you will have the skills and knowledge for planning out your next great idea with the Google Cloud Platform.
As a mobile developer, James always had a passion for building exciting apps and always striving to make user interfaces that were easy and intuitive to use. Course Overview Hi everyone. My name is James Wilson, and welcome to my course, Planning and Configuring a Cloud Solution on Google Cloud. I am an engineer that is building exciting software on the Google Cloud Platform with products such as App Engine, BigQuery, and Cloud Pub/Sub. When planning out a project in the cloud, you can become overwhelmed by the amount of choices at your disposal. It's important to take a step back and learn a little bit about each product so you can find the right one which fits your needs. In this course, we are going to review some of the core product lines on the Google Cloud Platform, such as the compute, storage, and load balancing offering. Some of the major topics that we will cover include leveraging the pricing calculator, reviewing the compute products, from virtual machines to serverless, exploring the different storage options, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and finding the right load balancer. By the end of this course, you'll be ready to plan out your project, choosing the technologies that fit your needs best. No prior knowledge is necessary before taking this course; however, you may find it easier to follow along by first watching Howard Dierking's excellent course, Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn about exciting products from Google with the Planning and Configuring a Cloud Solution on Google Cloud course, at Pluralsight.
