We'll learn how to approach studio lighting using the real time tools in 3ds Max, V-Ray and HDR Light Studio to quickly set up effective and realistic lighting. We'll focus on how to create realistic shaders and then how to set up V-Ray to get the best results in our final render. By the end of the training you will see how to take a model and turn it into a professional high resolution virtual photograph.
Introduction and Project Overview Hi everyone, my name is Brendan McCaffrey. I'm a freelance illustrator specializing in high-resolution artwork for games, toys, products, and advertising. My latest projects include box art for the Need for Speed series, promotional artwork for GI Joe and Hot Wheels, as well as virtual photography for Monster products and Nike packaging. In this course we're going to cover high-resolution studio rendering for design using 3ds Max and V-Ray. Some of the key takeaways from watching this course include learning how to create professional, high-resolution, studio-lit shots for product promotion, how to tune your models and textures for extremely high-resolution rendering, how to use the real time tools in V-Ray and HDR Light Studio to quickly set up studio lighting, how to optimize V-Ray to get the best results with reasonable render times, and finally, how to composite and retouch our renders in Photoshop to create the final artwork. By the end of the training you will have learned how to quickly produce a high-resolution studio rendering of your own product. I'm really excited to work with Digital-Tutors and share these techniques with you.
