Course Overview Hello everyone. My name is Rhonda Layfield, and welcome to my course, Maintain Windows 10 Images. I'm an independent deployment expert who has spent 33 years of her life in the IT industry. I started out back in 1982 as a communications specialist in the U. S. Navy, and have to say, the tools of the trade have come a long way in a short time. From starting with punch cards and mainframes, and now working with Microsoft's Deployment Toolkit and Configuration Manager, I am thrilled to get to share my knowledge with you on all of Microsoft's deployment tools. There are lots of Microsoft deployment tools out there, and it seems like more every single day. In this course, one of the major things you're going to learn are the features and functionality of all the Microsoft deployment tools, so then you can choose which one will work best for your deployment solution. The major topics that we will cover include manually deploying using the Deployment Image Servicing Management utility, good old DISM, the Windows Deployment Service, or WDS, and there I want to point out really how cumbersome it can be to manage images using WDS, because it only allows for fat images. Then we'll get into the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, MDT, and in my opinion that is the best free solution due to how flexible it is. And if you're a larger organization or just have a little bit of money to spend Configuration Manager is one of Microsoft's flagship products, and it has a fantastic operating system deployment functionality to it. By the end of this course, you'll know which deployment tool is right for your deployment scenarios. Before beginning this course. you should be familiar with deploying Microsoft operating systems. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn Microsoft's deployment tools with the maintain Windows 10 Images course at Pluralsight.
