Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Alan Ackmann, and welcome to my course, Managing Your Emotions in the Workplace. I'm an instructor and administrator at DePaul University. People often think about emotions as somehow existing outside of professional environments, but understanding and applying emotional truths is just as important in the workplace as it is outside of the workplace. This course is therefore designed to help you identify, regulate, and express emotions in professional settings. Some of the major topics that we will cover include practicing emotional self‑protection, developing healthy emotional perspectives, managing emotions during a confrontation. By the end of this course, you'll know yourself and your colleagues better and practice more effective emotional assertiveness and understanding.
