Introduction and Project Overview
Hi, everyone. My name is Daniel Gonzalez. I'm currently a texture painter at Industrial Light and Magic. My latest projects include working on Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, The Hobbit 2: Desolation of Smaug, The Planet of the Apes 2, and I'm currently working on The Hulk Buster, a variation of Iron Man, for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. In this course we are going to use Notepad to draw squiggly texture hard surface characters. The one we'll be texturing is a female cyborg, but I'll leave it up to you to figure out if she's a cyborg or an android. Some of the key takeaways from watching this course include learning how to use Notepad plug ins to create maps that generally would take longer to bake in other software packages. Utilize those maps to get quick results for all our channels. Lay out the character you've used for film. Use mirroring techniques as well as patch tools to get quick coverage. And plug the maps into a shader and render. By the end of the training you will have learned how to save time texturing and shading the character from scratch. I'm very excited to work with digital tutors, and share these techniques with you. So let's get started. So let's get started with the first lesson.
