Developers need to know how to create apps that aren't only functional, but also visually appealing. In Photoshop: Advanced Tips and Tricks for Developers, you can learn how to use the new, advanced features of Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.1 to create mock-ups that look great. First, you'll work with Artboards, which will help you to create clean and beautiful layouts that work for mobile phones or desktops. Next, you'll create buttons, shapes, and more in Design Space, Photoshop's minimalistic editing interface intended to help designers have a clutter-free workspace. Finally, when you're finished designing your app, you'll learn how to live-preview it in Device Preview. Whether you are a mobile app developer, a mobile app designer, or just someone interested in Photoshop’s new features, by the time you're done with this course, you'll know how to create beautifully-designed mock-ups with Photoshop.

Hey everybody and welcome to Pluralsight! My name is Troy and this is Photoshop Advanced Tips and Tricks for Developers. In this course, we'll be going over the new advanced features of Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. This update encompasses a lot of changes. So let's be clear, we'll be going over artboards, design space, device preview, and that will come with the Adobe Preview CC Companion app. In this module, I will give you an introduction to each one of these modules, as well as go over custom settings to help you get started. Now I chose these three specifically because they will aid in your mobile app creations. So whether you are a mobile developer, or a mobile app designer, or just someone interested in Photoshop's new features, this course will assist you in creating mockups fast and efficiently. During this course we will be using a fictional company called AYOR Coffee, drink at your own risk. It's probably because it's really dark, so it should be good. So I hope you're ready to go, and in the spirit of this fictional company, go grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and let's get started.

Welcome back. Right now, let's discuss what we're going to learn in Artboards. We're going to cover what are artboards, how to create artboards, create from existing files and groups, adjusting artboards, copying artboards and content, and finally, exporting. Again, artboards are an amazing way to work fast and efficiently, and in this module, we're going to do exactly that. So everybody, sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and let's get started.

Design Space
What is Design Space? Well in this module, that's exactly what we're going to uncover. We're going to talk about, what is Design Space? We're going to go through a Design Space tour, we're going to create a new project, we're going to create new artboards within Design Space, we're going to look how Design Space searches files, layers, there's so much to the search capabilities, it's so awesome. We're going to talk about how to edit within Design Space, so we'll go through how to create buttons, shapes, there's an awesome image swap functionality that we can play with, we're going to show you the new ways that you can do masking, we're going to look at how they do samplers, oh so cool. And we're going to go through the HTML5 CSS color values with Color Picker. Pretty sweet. And then finally, we're going to end with how to export. Again, there's a lot of different ways you can export with Design Space, it's so awesome, I can't wait to show you. So stick around for the next clip where we actually go through what is Design Space.

Device Preview
Hey everybody and welcome to Device Preview. In this module what we will be covering is how to download Device Preview on your phone, the companion app, how to set it up in Photoshop, and then how to use it. So what we will be doing is taking our artboards and previewing them live on our iPhone. You can also do this on an iPad, there is no solution for Android quite yet, but what you will see is how you can make changes in real-time and see it directly on your iPhone while editing your artboards in Photoshop. See you guys in the next clip.
