Course Overview
Hi everyone, my name is Lauren Nichols and welcome to my course Creating Comics and Graphic Novels. I'm a concept artist and illustrator in London working primarily within the gaming industry, but I also have a passion for comic arts and animation with both practical and educated experience. Whether comics and graphic novels are strictly just a hobby for you to learn more about or you are genuinely interested in creating content to sell or gain from, it can be an intimidating genre because it encapsulates storytelling, design and art all at once. This course is for people who want to understand the different aspects of creating a comic, both creatively and technically, as well as learn techniques and different concepts that might benefit your existing ideas. Some of the major topics that we'll be covering includes planning a comic or graphic novel, working with ink and color, understanding key ideas such as pasting and composition, as well as how to finalize your work and prepare it for the web or for print. By the end of this course you'll have almost every aspect of creating a comic book or graphic novel understood and will be prepared to create your own work successfully. Before beginning this course you should be familiar with Photoshop as this is the software I'll be using throughout as well as have a basic understanding of both drawing and coloring. I hope you'll join me and enjoy learning some new skills and concepts with the comics and graphic novels course at Pluralsight.
