Nutanix Files is an enterprise-grade, distributed, software-defined SMB and NFS file server solution that runs on the Nutanix HCI platform. This course teaches you how to deploy, manage, and gain deep insights into your data.
Do you have multiple storage silos or worry about managing your file storage growth? Do you have five-year-old NAS devices or Windows File Servers that struggle to handle your ever-expanding data growth? In this course, Planning and Deploying Nutanix Files, you'll learn how to plan, deploy, scale, and protect your important file data using Nutanix Files. First, you'll discover how to gain visibility into your data. Next, you'll delve into performing fine-grained auditing. Finally, you'll explore how to detect security anomalies. By the end of this course, you'll understand why the days of five year NAS refreshes are coming to an end and how software-defined solutions get better with age.

Course Overview Hi everyone, my name is Peter Grant, and welcome to my course, Planning and Deploying Nutanix Files. I'm a systems engineering manager at Nutanix, and this is the second in the Nutanix series of courses. Imagine what it would be like if you never had to undertake a file storage appliance or NAS refresh along with all the hassle of data migration ever again. What if your storage appliances always had the latest features and improved as technology evolved? Well, that's the benefit of software-based solutions such as Nutanix Files. In this course, we're going to deploy, configure, and show you some of the power of Nutanix Files. We're going to look at planning and deploying the core file server, learning how to architect the best share structure, scaling and upgrading the solution, and gaining visibility into the data. By the end of this course, you'll feel confident in what Nutanix Files is, how it's configured, and what features and benefits it offers over and above traditional file-serving solutions. Before beginning this course, you should have some awareness of the Core Nutanix HCI stack. But if you don't, don't worry. There's an introductory course on Pluralsight called Nutanix: The Big Picture, and it's perfect to get you stated. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn Nutanix Files with this Pluralsight course, Planning and Deploying Nutanix Files.
