Course Overview Welcome to this Salesforce Play by Play with Pluralsight. Salesforce Play by Play is an interactive series where we sit down with Salesforce experts, such as MVPs, consultants, developers, and architects, to discuss common challenges faced every day by Salesforce customers. In this course, we challenge Garrett Farwell, Senior Solutions Engineer at Salesforce, to help us understand how Salesforce partners with nonprofit organizations of all sizes to manage their constituents and deliver on their mission. First, Garrett sets the stage with some historical context around Salesforce's commitment to helping nonprofits, non‑governmental organizations, and charities of all sizes, and explains how Salesforce's founders ingrained giving back into its company culture and technology from the very beginning. Next, he provides an overview of the Salesforce.org Advantage, walks us through some of the products available to nonprofit customers, and clarifies the differences across the Nonprofit Cloud, the Philanthropy Cloud, the Education Cloud, and foundationConnect. He sets up a real‑world, nonprofit scenario reviewing some of the tools used to engage with and manage constituents, explores processes to define and reach goals, and clarifies some of the various additions and pricing models. Along the way, he walks us through the key aspects of initial implementation, highlights some post‑implementation considerations, and provides pointers to many of the resources provided by Salesforce to help ensure customer success. By the time we're done, you'll have a foundational understanding of how Salesforce serves the nonprofit sector and some of the available technology solutions and paths to consider when embarking on your own Salesforce nonprofit journey. So if you need to know more about Salesforce in the nonprofit world, please join us for Embarking on the Salesforce Nonprofit Journey. We hope you enjoy it.
